Even on the lowest setting this game is unplayable. Pathetic!

So, i love the game, the story, the gameplay, i love most things about it. but theres one thing i hate about it. there are ighting errors EVERYWARE! at time the whole screen is black. the leaves on the trees are flat black squares. there are random triangles. theres a pink screen that shows up at random times. fix these problems and i will give this app a 5-star review. PLEASE FIX THESE GLITCHES!!!

I have a brand new late 2012 maxed out iMac, compatibility website says Im fine. Runs pooly on minimum graphics. Get it on a console, dont waste your $30.

First, Im runnin a late 2011 MBP 2.5ghz 8gb ram amd radeon hd 6770M and it definitely runs well enough to play with the preset medium settings, and even the medium settings I can tell that the graphics are the best Ive seen on a Mac. Im currently working on getting my ps3 controller to work with it as I feel like the game would be easier to play, but other than that, the game plays great, its fun, the story makes me want to play "just a little more" Im seeing a lot of people post that the game wont play on their machine which has equal or better specs than mine. The only thing I can recommend is make sure you have your graphics always run at high settings, and to have an external fan. Thats what I do and I dont seem to have a problem.

THIS GAME IS 20 DOLLARS!!! MORE LIKE CRAP. THIS GAME IS THE WORST GAME EVER. I BOUGHT IT WITH THE LATE 2011 MACBOOK PRO AND IT WONT EVEN LOAD IT IS SO LAGGY!!! PLUS, IT TOOK ABOUT 7 HOURS TO DOWNLOAD. PIECE OF CRAP GAME DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game has to be the worst! What was I thinking…? Would love my money back!

The biggest waste of money 4Mth old loaded IMac , the game is un playable on all but the lowest seting . can i get my money back ? or a key to load it on a WINDOWS based Computer.

I see a lot of complaints on here but honestly I never expected a high-end game like this to even be available. Its a great game but expect to have to drop the Resolution and Graphics settings SIGNFICANTLY (and even then its going to run hot). You need a great graphics card to run this game even semi-well, so if your computer is more than a year or two old, dont even bother; but if you have a newer one and realize that you have to scale things down (and are ok with that), this is a really fun game!

This game was obviously intended for consoles because of its control scheme. Knowing that though, I purchased it thinking I could simply use my PS3s Sixaxis controller via Bluetooth. The Sixaxis works fine with other games Ive purchased so I really didnt think about it. Boy was I WRONG. While TW2 recognizes the PS3 as a controller, it has the mappings all wrong. Whats more, you are unable to customize the mapping properly because key buttons (i.e. X, CIRCLE, SQUARE, TRIANGLE) arent even recognized by the game. D-Pad directional buttons even register as bumper or trigger buttons. I wish I would have known that the game didnt support the PS3s controller before I purchased it.

i have a top of the line macbook pro and this still has major lag issues please please refund money. this is horrible and unplayable update they contacted me and said sorry NO refund how nice that i wasted my money on this. id give it a zero if i could, beware of this game

I got one of the new iMacs recently and was eager see what this NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB graphics card could do. I was also unaware that this game ever came out for mac and I was excited to finally try it out as i dont own a PC and im a ps3 gamer. The story is great and really pulls you in. Combat is fast and fun. The game runs pretty good at the high graphic settings and it looks fantastic. The music is also equally fantastic. Im about 2 hours into the first act but I love how its opened up after the prologue and i can explore around the map. I can see how this game would have trouble running on older systems, but if your system meets the required specs and you like a good brutal RPG then I recommend checking this out. Great first purchase for my new computer.

I was a little skeptical about buying this game considering the requirements. However, I recently upgraded my 500 gb hard drive to a super fast samsung 830 ssd and my RAM from 4gb to 8bg of corsair vengeance. That being said, my 13 inch does not have the graphics card required for this game but I seem to be getting along just fine anyway. I played the game on lower resolution at first and I had no problems aside from a few glitches that last only a second or two. Even on low res the graphics are pretty amazing. Then I tried the game out on the best res possible for my mac and much to my surprise it ran very well. The graphics were even better and the glitches did not come more frequently then they had on low res. Once in a while the game slows down but I have found that to be the case with most games and if you restart the game you will be fine. If you have a similar setup to mine then I assure you that you will be able to play the witcher. It is definitely the best game I have ever played. It can be a little overwhelming at first but if I can get used to the controls anyone can Im sure. The download took about 20 hours for me and then I realized there was an update for glitches. The reason I have not updated the game yet is because I dont feel like waiting another 20 hours to play. I am sure that the update will improve the gameplay which will make the my experience with the it even more enjoyable. If you are thinking about getting it then just give it a shot. Im glad I did.

game wont install after download "an error has occurred" message keeps appearing

Does not work at all on my brand new top of the line macbook pro.

The game will not let me fully install this. If you have a high end computer, download it. If you are iffy, you are going to be taking a huge risk. The game is a great game though. Story is amazing, and the world is interesting. Combat will take some getting used to, but its satisfying once you understand what to do.

Running this game on Windows 7 through Bootcamp I can run it on High/Ultra settings with UberSampling turned off. I love Mac more than anything and am completely against Windows, but when it comes to gaming Mac gets it wrong. I can only run this game on Medium while running Mac OS and even then it feels a bit more sluggish. This is a game that shouldnt be taken in unless you can run it on High or above as it is gorgeous! Also on the Mac version some of the keys cannot be remapped. This for me was an issue as the F5 quick save key constantly opens Launchpad and does not save the game. The quick save function for me will not remap. I have a R.A.T. 7 gaming mouse and while running it on the Mac version my Witcher 2 mouse profile will not work ingame. It works fine on the Windows version. Im running 10.8.2 and have not come across any of the "game not installing" or "game not running" issues. Although with the game defaulting to High settings on video from my computers specs and only being able to barely handle medium, I would say something went wrong in this port. I for one am emailing Apple asking for a refund. Game was bought and downloaded yesterday, uninstalled a day later. I will continue to play it through Bootcamp.

Many have bad reviews. Yes, even my new iMac can only handle medium resolution, but it doesnt make it bad. Sotry line is great and the graphic is great (just make it not full windows view). I just finished the game and it worthed every penny. After all, it is only $20 for a great game. I recommend it if you have some spare time to spend on a RPG. The update is a bid annoying though. You have to redownload the whole thing for minor updates.

Those of us with a rMBP can now enjoy The Witcher’s incredible graphics. The new update from Apple fixes the game’s low frame rate problem that was frustration a lot of users. I am now able to play it on my 1080p external monitor with high settings and at a bearable frame rate.

As many other reviews have noted, the game is pretty much unplayable with certain graphics cards. This appears to be an issue with certain graphics cards running on Mac OS X. For example: Mid-2012 Retina Macbook Pro with 2.3GHz i7, 8GB RAM, and NVidia 650m w/ 1GB RAM Completely unplayable in Mac OS X when downloaded from the App Store. Plays beautifully on high settings when played via Steam on Windows 7 via Boot Camp. I quick and terse note from CD Projekts support suggested I wait for Apple to update their graphics drivers, but extensive research of the forums suggest the porting job was sub-par. In short, until you see an update on the App Store stating there has been a fix for graphics issues of any kind or unless you see a review specifically stating your exact computer plays this game sufficiently, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME.
