Buggy…no support

I was able to download this and play about half of the game until it became very buggy. So, I deleted it and left it. Now, I’m upgraded to OS Sierra, and I can’t even download the game again! I contact support, and never heard back from them. What a waste of money. Don’t buy this game. The App Store should not sell games that don’t work, nor offer any support to fix the problem.

Good game, but a little hard to get through

The game is a weird one. The RPG is beautiful, with some of the best graphics to date, but the technical issues, like framerate (even on recent hardware, its nearly impossible to run on higher settings), and convoluted story kind of bog the experience down. It’s best to play the first one, or read the novellas before trying to embark on this game’s quest because the story is so deep, to get the full impact, some background knowledge is needed. If you’re not at all going to pay attention to that, then the game is good, but not great.

Buggy!

I have a top of the line 2011 iMac with 16 GB ram, top of the line video card. Before I finished the tutorial the audio from the game cut out. The port isnt very good. Mention is made of an "Alt" key. LOL ALT? Wrong operating system. An hour into the game and the graphics are nowhere near what games like Skyrim have. They seem dated, a few years behind.

Very Buggy

I would have really enjoyed if it werent for the graphics always lagging. Some of the most key sequences are cut off and sometimes in battle you perish just because of it. Id recommend that it be taken off the app store until fixed because anyone who is buying this will be assurely disappointed by this horrible setback Fix it asap !!!

Great game

I used this game on a 2011 iMac with the AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB and it works flawlessly. I have not pumped up the quality to the max but followed what the game recommended and so far everything works great! The game is great and at a great price. Well worth the $20!

Its a good game!

This is a great RPG, second only to the Elder Scrolls. I have been experiencing some lighting glitches with my mac with 4GB of ram and an i5 processor. The game runs smoothly, but the screen goes white at certain angles. Overall a good game, the glitches are bearable, easily a 4.5/5

Good surprise

When i first checked on my macs ability to run this game, using the program theyve got on their site, it told me that it would not run. I ignored it, and bought this game. Even though the game itself warned me that it would not run, it ran nicely, on the lowest graphics. First time i played, there was no sound, so that kinda worried me, but after rebooting the game, everythings fine. It actually is a great game. Lot of fun, so far, and no problem of the laggy sort some others complained about. Dying adds a difficulty to it, and also the fact that you cant review while in-game the tutorial about one part or another of the game is also kind of a problem(maybe i missed the part where it said how to check it in-game?). All in all, a great fun game that is an awesome way to spend a measly 20 bucks on. Worthwhile all the way.

Crashes on install

Tried to install numerous times and keeps crashing brand new i mac frustrated

Great, but quite a few bugs.

For the most part this is a great port by CD Projekt Red; a lot better than most other companies ports. Late 2011 Macbook Pro, with 16 GB of RAM, the game can run on high for the most part. However, its better to stick to medium or custom, as the game will sometimes crash. The next problem is that it seems as though if you do make custom settings, as soon as you exit the options menu, it will reset and youll lose all your settings. Very annoying and potentially game-breaking. Terms of gameplay, flawless; one of the best RPGs Ive ever had the privilege to play. However, the bugs and crashing take away from the overall experience (Id give it a 3, but the gameplay is just too addictive).

reinstalling

consistantly reinstalls every time i try to reopen it, getting sick of it.

You need a fast computor.

This game is amazing from what ive seen but my Mac pro isnt’t the fastest moddel, therefore it lags conciderably when I try to play. If you want to play these kinds of games and dont have the best computer you should get additional ram, like what I am going to do. Hope this helps.

Good Game Subpar Support

Game visuals are (apparently) beautiful and the gameplay/story I can tell is quite in depth and stunning but a game is only as good as the support from the developer. In this case, I have an issue that makes the light blinding on my system, and its quite unplayable. I wrote service to get some support with screenshots and all the info. I got a response that was essentially just a brush off saying: ‘play with the settings.’ I did already of course, so when I wrote back after having tried a great many things, they just decided to leave me hanging altogether. Its only upsetting because it is an immensely large and expensive game taking up space on my hard drive now :(

Amazing

Such an amazing RPG. For the longest time, I was strictly a viewer and would watch my brother and friends play RPGs. This was the first that made me want to play. Agreed with another comment - if your resolution is 1280x720, no lag.

Do not buy this, it runs really badly!

Runs really, really slow on my rMPB 2.6GHz. Clearly a bad port and not optimized for Macs. Barely runs at an acceptable rate at 1280x720!

Potentially an awesome game for Mac, but currently unplayable.

Ill admit that I stupidly purchased the game without using the developers system check tool. I suppose I was thinking that my 2012 Mac mini with its supposedly impressive graphics card would be able to handle this game. By lowering the specs and/or resolution I am able to get the game playing without lag, but unfortunately its still plagued by graphical glitches. Screen flashing pink or white, tapered geometric shapes piercing the atmosphere, bushes and trees popping in and out of existence and disappearing textures. Im not sure if its my graphics card or bugs that need patching, but either way Mac mini users beware...

Serious Fun!

This runs smoothly on my CB 27" mid-2011 iMac. 3.1 GHz i5, 12 GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048MB on board. Yep, that is a higher end machine but you are going to need it to play. The visuals are stunning, I have rarely seen such shading and details on a game. It is impressive. Kudos to the developer and Apple, it is a risk putting out an adult game, but there are quite a few people who get a little sick of fruit ninja. I havent play more than an hour, but I wanted to inform the world it does run very nicely if you have the power to handle it. Many options to change the settings to tailor it to your machine. I wasnt able to turn it all the way up, but the result was still very nice. Get it while it is only $20 its $29 on steam.

Unplayable

One of the best RPG. Waiting for this game OS X for almost a year. And…??? This game totally unplayable on top MacBook Pro 15" 2010. System: 10.8.2 RAM: 8Gb SSD: Crucial 4M VIDEO: NVidia 330M 512Mb In this same time Two Worlds II and Deus EX: Invisible War play very smooth on maximum spec. Very poor port to the OS X. Please fix this ASAP!

Thank you for porting over to the mac!

I struggled to play this game on my PC but the 10+ hours I got in before giving up on it were amazing. I finally purchased a new mac pro for web/graphic design work, I was so delighted to see this game port over as I look forward to losing hours playing this game to its full potential. If you are a RPG fan this game is a no brainer. TRUST ME you will not be disappointed.

UPDATE::::::::::

stated: requirements : 10.6.8 :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Does not work . Upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.2:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: RUNS PERFECTLY !! A stunning game with interesting cinematic quality, characters, and story. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Very pleased .

Best Game To Come To The Mac!

This is by far the best game to ever come to the MAC! I was a long time PC gamer until the past few years, and while lots of great games have been porting over, none have proven to have the graphics, compelling story, and advanced mechanics of this game. I have never played any of the Witcher series, but my first impression of the game are only shadowed by the great performance of the game on my system. For those with lag problems, remember to read the requirements. Minimum requirements doesnt mean great performance. For those with good systems with plenty of RAM and 2GB vid cards, this will be the best game to date that youve downloaded for your MAC!
